ABOUT THE MUNICIPAL WELLNESS PROGRAM
The Municipal Wellness Program was established in 2014 and is a partnership between the Association of Municipal Administrators, NS and the Nova Scotia Federation of Municipalities. It is made possible through the Municipal Group Employee Benefits Program with assistance from Morneau Shepell, Medavie Blue Cross and Desjardins Insurance.
The Municipal Wellness Program is designed to inspire and support the creation of strong municipal workplace cultures and happier and healthier employees.
Vision: Healthy active employees thriving in healthy work environments.
Mission: To help municipalities develop and maintain a healthy organizational culture, ensure that the physical work environment is safe, and provide health resources for employees who wish to take accountability for their own health.

The Town of Westville has greatly benefited from the Municipal Wellness Program. It has connected staff members through physical activity and healthy eating. It has given the staff a chance to be physically active as a group, plant a garden, and initiate healthy staff potlucks. We strongly believe that these program's have contributed to improved mental health in the workplace and have given us a chance to connect with each other through activities outside of the office.
The Municipal Wellness Program has been a key component for our West Hants Wellness Committee in providing employees with a consistent flow of information and engaging content. Currently, we are excited about our upcoming Lunchtime Adventure Series that would not have been possible without the Wellness Programs guidance, funding and support.
