The well-being of municipal employees and elected officials is a top for the Municipal Wellness Program. We've created this page to provide you with easy and accessible information, resources, and tools to support your municipality in creating healthy workplace cultures.

Dimensions of Health

Our program focuses on total well-being which includes physical, mental, workplace, financial, and social. These five dimensions of health are there to guide employees and elected officials in their wellness journey. Check out the chart below to learn more about some of the resources available through the wellness program. 

Physical

Physical Activity, lifestyle choices, nutrition, heart health, sleep

Mental

Psychological health and safety standards, general mental health, work/personal stress, coping skills and resiliency

Workplace

 EFAP, productivity, healthy public policy, and supportive environments 

Financial

Debt, savings, and general financial management

Workplace, family, and community supports  

PARTNERSHIPS

The Municipal Wellness Program was established in 2014 and is a partnership between the Association of Municipal Administrators, NS and the Nova Scotia Federation of Municipalities. It is made possible through the Municipal Group Employee Benefits Program with assistance from LifeWorks, Medavie Blue Cross and Desjardins Insurance
