Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The TELUS Health EAP offers many FREE services to support municipal employees and elected officials across many dimensions of health including physical, mental, workplace, financial, legal and social wellbeing.

Good Life Fitness Discount

We are pleased to offer municipal employees and elected officials the Good Life Fitness corporate discount membership program. Employees will enjoy $0 enrollment and access to professionally trained staff, all while taking advantage of a 30% corporate discount off club pricing. GLF also offers an on-demand membership option.

Municipal Wellness Grants

The Municipal Wellness Grants Program funds projects that promote workplace wellness for municipal employees and elected officials, through new initiatives. For example, physical activity challenges, monthly wellness speaker series, or acquisition of equipment that promotes wellness (e.g., bikes, standing desks).

NS Walks at Work

NS Walks at Work

Do you enjoy walking and want to support your colleagues to reap the benefits of movement during the workday? We are always looking for municipal employee volunteers to co-lead gentle, fun, and friendly walks at your workplace as part of the NS Walks at Work Program.

The Working Mind (TWM)

The Working Mind (TWM)

A full physical examination is a general examination of the body performed by the doctor or general practitioner (GP).

TWM training has been officially relaunched and is offered several times a year. This in-person and/or virtual training aims to reduce stigma, raise awareness around mental health issues and increase access to mental health supports and services.

This updated Mental Health Toolbox is a comprehensive resource that can help you determine where you are on your mental health journey. It features support available through the Municipal Wellness Program, the NSFM Benefits Plan, and through community and national resources.

LIFT Fitness

LIFT Fitness – FREE

Child Health care is defined as the medical services that are provided by the medical professionals to the children having disease or infection.

LIFT is provided through TELUS Health and provides a full suite of fitness offerings that make working out exciting, easy, and efficient. It’s like working out at your preferred gym or studio without ever stepping outside your home or office setting.

Child Health care is defined as the medical services that are provided by the medical professionals to the children having disease or infection.

The quarterly Caught in the Act award recognizes and celebrates municipal employees and elected officials who are engaged in positive and health-promoting behaviours. This includes activities such as walking to work, eating a healthy meal, or taking a break to meditate or stretch.
