The Municipal Wellness Program is committed to enhancing mental health and wellbeing for all employees and elected officials and supporting healthy and sustainable municipalities. Promoting positive mental health and wellbeing is crucial to employees' productivity and engagement and to creating a healthy work environment for all.  

Reducing mental health stigma, creating supportive municipal culture, and ensuring that employees and elected officials have the resources to help them understand mental health issues and improve resiliency and coping skills. It is essential to equip employees and elected officials with the skills they need to live well and improve their health by creating environments that support them. All of these factors are key to building positive mental health and to living and working well.

30-Day Online Mindfulness Challenge

The 30-Day Mindfulness Challenge is a free online training program offered to all Nova Scotians. This challenge helps reduce stress while increasing joy and peak performance in all areas of life, including leadership, interpersonal communication, conflict management, and decision-making in decision-making the workplace.

The MindWell-U was developed using evidence-based curricula, and this innovative training is geared towards anyone looking to incorporate mindfulness into the workplace and in their everyday lives. Everyone can benefit from this simple practice, whether you are new to mindfulness, practicing already, or part of a municipality or department looking for a team-building activity.

After just 10 minutes a day for 30 consecutive days, you can become healthier, more productive and better able to problem-solve and work in a team.
